Meet the Wrestlers Night
Tuesday November 22, 2011 @ Heartland Acres Event Center
Social hour 5:00pm-6:00pm
Silent Auction viewing 5:30pm
McElroy’s catered supper 6:15pm
Guest speakers 7:00pm
Guest speakers at meet the wrestlers night will be Doug and Mark Schwab, University of Northern Iowa head and assistant wrestling coaches. There will be a silent and live auction again and 7-12 wrestlers introduced as well. Students can buy their tickets for $8 and adults’ tickets will cost $15. Contact a wrestling coach to purchase a ticket.
High School Wrestling Weight Class Change
The National High School Wrestling Association decided to change high school wrestling weigh classes in a meeting last school year. The new weight classes are as follows: 106, 113, 120, 126, 132, 138, 145, 152, 160, 170, 182, 195, 220, 285. These weight classes will be in effect for this coming high school wrestling season. There are still 14 weight classes and as you can see some of the weights are the same. Compare the above weight classes to the old weights below:
Previous classes 103, 112, 119, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 152, 160, 171, 189, 215, 285.
